100 rides to family
A product designed to help women and nonbinary riders connect led to something even better: an unlikely friendship that turned into family.
When Lyft launched Women+ Connect, a feature that helps prioritize matches between women and nonbinary riders and drivers, our team set out to find stories that demonstrated the product's impact in the real world.
As we dug into the data, one pairing stood out. A driver in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, had matched with the same rider more than 100 times. Curious how that could happen, we reached out to learn more.
What we discovered wasn't just a product success story. It was the story of two strangers who met through Lyft and became part of each other's lives.

Outcome
This project demonstrates how editorial storytelling can create durable brand assets that support multiple product launches, campaigns, and communications efforts over time.
-
Produced a short documentary and social-first video highlighting the relationship between Carmyn and Diamond.
-
The social video generated more than 500K impressions and nearly 30K likes across Lyft channels.
-
Later repurposed as part of the Favorite Driver launch, extending the story's relevance and reinforcing Lyft's broader focus on connection and community.
Carmyn and Diamond's story was also told through a companion editorial feature.
